I will be away for a few weeks so one of my friends, Ernesto will be in charge of Beti Vanilla (say hi to him!). I will post photos of everything when I'm back, especially of food including gelatos, crepes and paellas.
And now for the French Apple Cake...
Making this cake was one of the easiest things ever and I can almost say that it is "light" just because it has tons of apples and almost no flour but you have that pie taste when you bite into it. Rum makes all the other flavors pop but it doesn't overpower them.
- 1 stick of butter, melted
- 1/2 c. of sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 8 small apples, peeled
- 1 tablespoon of Rum
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla
1. Core apples and slice them. Sift flour and baking powder. In a medium bowl mix eggs, Rum and vanilla until foamy, add sugar and continue mixing.
2. Add half of the flour mixture and then half of the melted butter, cooled; repeat. Folf apples into batter and pour into a prepared pan. Bake at 350°F for about 50 minutes.
*It will appear as if there wasn't enough mixture.
|Let it cool completely and dust with powdered sugar|
